BEST BOOKS FOR IIT COURSE

In this article, I am going to help all the IIT JEE Aspirants by solving their common questions related to the best books for IIT Course.

I will be mentioning many books that are found good and are suggested. Don't get confused by seeing these many books. Most people don't study them all. Some books are good for theory, some for problems and some books are used for specific topics. I'll mention alternatives to all books. You can buy them too. I'll provide pros and cons wherever possible.

Best books for IIT Course

I have extensively searched the web for the latest and best editions of the books. To ease out things for you guys, I have included links to all the books too, So that you can directly buy the books instead of wasting time searching for them(time is precious!). Just click on the link, and you will see the correct edition.

PHYSICS-

Must have books-

1.
NCERTReading NCERT will help you answer the theoretical problems asked in the paper, and will help you with JEE(Main). It will give you a heads up for boards too. Also, see the links below for all four books(read both parts of classes 11th and 12th).

2. HC Verma-  Very good and must book for concepts of JEE Physics. Read theory and try to solve all the questions.

3. Previous papers questions- Must solve each and every one of them.

1. 41 Years' Chapterwise Topicwise Solved Papers (2019-1979) IIT JEE Physics is a must as it will give you ideas of the previous year's questions.

4. Arihant or Cengage Series books:

1.
Arihant Physics Series- It's an awesome resource for quality problems and must-have for self-study students who are serious. It will help you clear all the concepts which are taught in coaching. Coaching guys can use it as extra practice. This is must solve for self-study guys if you wanna crack JEE(Advanced). It has really nice problems and theories.

2. Cengage Series- This is an equally good series. I have used it personally and my experience with this book was awesome. You can use it as an alternative to Arihant ( avoid using both, it will confuse you).

5. Books for problem practice-

You can do Coaching sheet+must have books+ Problem books as a complete package. Include the books above(in point 2) if you don't go to coaching.

1. DC Pandey- Have awesome numericals that you should consider.

6. Books for a high rank/Olympiads-

1. I.E. Irodov- Must solve this if you are aiming for Olympiads and for high-level questions for JEE Advance.

MATHEMATICS-

Fortunately, I find that mathematics doesn't need many books, so I'll list them directly instead of categorizing them. So, the must-have book for coaching students is just NCERT and past papers.

1. To be honest, NCERT isn't needed much in Mathematics, but you can read it for JEE(Main) specific topics or boards. Just solve your coaching stuff really well(or follow the next point if you are not satisfied, or aspire for more).

2. So, you can choose between Arihant Skills in Mathematics or Cengage series by G. Tewani. Both have good questions, but I found Arihant to be good. I solved them and they have really good questions.

G. Tewani-

Cengage-

3. 41 Years Chapterwise Topicwise Solved Papers (2019-1979) IIT JEE Mathematics. It is a must book for everyone.

CHEMISTRY-

Chemistry would be best if you try to get your hands on them. I would suggest you go for popular books on the subject, like the ones given below, for theory. I have mentioned a few books below, which I found good.

1. NCERT is very important for the chemistry sectionAlso, NCERT is very important for the chemistry sectionStudy NCERT really well. It is highly important. Try to remember everything in NCERT.

Some good books-

1. For Physical and Inorganic Chemistry O.P Tondon is considered the best book.

2. For Organic Chemistry, Himanshu Pandey, M S Chauhan and Wiley Solomon's are the best books.

3. You can again follow the Cengage series if you are studying on your own. But I feel that students with access to good coaching material should avoid books for theory.

Cengage-

4. 41 Years' Chapterwise Topicwise Solved Papers (2019-1979) IIT JEE Chemistry. It is a must book for everyone.

There are countless books available in the market. But not all books are good. I recommended only the books that I personally found good or heard from a credible person about their quality. Too many books are bad too.

Comment if you have any more doubts regarding the topic.

All the best!
